You got to hand it to Obama. He is the only person who can piss on our shoes and tell us it’s raining with a smile on his face.

Take, for example, this whole mess about his minister, Jeremiah Wright. Wow. What a “man of God” this guy is. Forget all that “Love thy neighbor” stuff. The New Testiment is apparently SO outdated. The only thing more amazing to me than the hateful tripe this guy spews out, is how many people go to his church every week to witness it.

The optimist in me tells me that most of the people in the congregation don’t really believe most of what Wright says. The optimist in me hasn’t really got much to base that opinion on except that there aren’t any race riots going on in Chicago as we speak.

My more logical (more outspoken) side tells me that the good Reverend is preaching a message of hate to a volatile population. He is inciting anger in a place like a church where he should be offering inspiration. Sure, Wright isn’t the only grade A dumb-ass in America preaching hate and politics from the pulpit. He just happens to be the only grade A dumb-ass that is the Barack Obama’s spiritual mentor. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/religion/chi-070121-relig_wright,1,271630.story?page=1&coll=chi-religion-topheadlines&ctrack=1&cset=true

If Obama wants to belong to a radical church with a racist minister, then, fine. But, don’t stand there and talk about “hope” and “change” and “bringing the country together” and then sit in a pew every Sunday morning and hear about how America is the evil empire and the white man is holding you down! You want to be the President and you are an active member of a church that preaches hate about ”white America” and is more concerned with South Africa than it is America? The church gave an award to Louis Farrakhan, for Pete’s sake. Obama likened Wright to  an “old uncle” with whom he doesn’t always agree. But, the only problem with that warm and fuzzy image is, he’s not his uncle. You don’t get to pick your uncle, you get to pick your minister! The church you attend is a representation of your faith and belief system. Is this the kind of faith and belief system that we want guiding the future of our great nation?

I’m not even going to bother saying what if it was a white minster saying these things about black people. I’m not even going to say that if this was McCain’s minister he would have had to drop out of the presidential race already. I’ll just say this, if Obama wanted to stop the rumors about him being a muslim, well, mission accomplished, my friend.

Fight the power, kill whitey, I mean…. God damn BLESS America.
